For Professor Glenna Rose, approaching forty means confronting a host of cultural stigmas and self-doubts. The least threatening path through the minefield of middle age seems to be a marriage proposal offered by a stodgy colleague fifteen years her senior.

Although Glenna has managed to varnish her free-spirited longings with the decorum required by conservative Stockton College, that veneer is shattered when friends treat her to a bachelorette party at a male strip club. "Dillinger," the sublimely sexy and secrecy-cloaked headliner, sparks Glenna's repressed passion. Her shock and confusion are compounded when the dancer returns her interest. To complicate matters further, Professor Rose has been assigned the duty of shepherding an appealing new faculty member, and this younger man soon becomes her trusted confidant.

Engaged to one man, in lust with a second, and increasingly close friends with a third, Glenna finds herself at the center of a crossroads even more life-altering than a march through middle age. While her values and very self-image are being tested, she knows one thing for certain—she must find an emotionally satisfying resolution to her dilemma and do so without generating a scandal…or worse.

When Ben Hawkins arrives in Tyler, Texas, he expects to put on a live show for his hometown and leave unscathed. As lead guitarist of the ever-popular band, Darkfever, he had everything that fame and fortune offered, but no one to share it with. Marah Spencer, however, was once the girl he longed for both in his life and in his bed. In leaving her behind to pursue his dreams, Ben found it to be one of the hardest things he ever had to do, but something completely unavoidable.

Marah knew the circumstances of Ben’s retreat, though the information didn’t ease her broken heart. And now he’s back in town. Her father specifically requested that she interview the Darkfever band for an article in the newspaper, but being close to Ben, she gains another taste of what she can’t have. In one homecoming of a weekend, both will face their desires and risk having their hearts shattered a second time around.

What people are saying about Lexie Davis' Rain Fell Down...

"An intensely explosive story from the opening scenes, Rain Fell Down is an erotic fantasy many women would love to have come true...Though short in length Rain Fell Down is long on quality. Lexie Davis is an author I plan to watch for future releases."-- Fallen Angels Reviews

In the heart of Tuscany’s centuries-old wine country, three half-Satyr brothers receive a letter that sends them in search of three endangered half-Faerie brides. The daughters of a dying king, they present a unique opportunity for the wealthy, charismatic Lords of Satyr to beget heirs to inherit their Italian vineyard and ancient secrets.

For not just any woman will do as a Satyr wife. Each month at Moonful, the brothers change physically, becoming more powerfully potent. They’re driven by the darker side of their natures to indulge in a nightlong ritual in a sacred gathering place ringed with statues of Bacchus, nymphs, dryads, and fauns.

Eldest brother Nick considers it his duty to sire heirs. But he prefers to keep his conjugal visits to Jane, his new FaerieBlend wife, proper while engaging in more carnal activities with experienced courtesans.

Unaware that she’s half-Faerie, Jane is desperate to rid herself of the terrible abilities she acquired when she turned thirteen. Only then will she bear Nick’s children and find a true home with him. Until then, she must deceive him.

As the grapevines begin to bloom, an ancient cult hatches plans that could destroy Nick and Jane’s blossoming happiness.

Sunday Bloggin'

Sunday Bloggin' with Gracie:

Hello wonderful fans of romantic fiction. I thank you for stopping by Bluegrass Romance Reviews. We're brand new and focused on bringing readers the best reviews of romantic fiction available. Many questions have been asked about us, so I thought I'd take the time this Sunday blog time to answer them.

Do you review print books?

We do review personal copies of print books, but as of right now, we don't accept them from publishers. We do however accept electronic versions of ARC when available. We're just starting out, and want to develop a strong relationship with our readers and authors before we move into accepting print books. Our reviewing policy is under the welcome message, so please read that and if your book fits the guidelines, by all means send it to us! We'll be glad to review your work.

Why don't you have ratings?

Reading is subjective and ratings are just the opinion of one person. We at BRR believe rating a book (whether it be high or low) isn't fair to the author because of this. Not every book can fit into the mold of a rating, and any one of us could read the same novel and find something different that we liked, as well as something different we didn't like. BRR is very author-friendly, and want to inform readers of the positive aspects of our authors hard work instead of focusing on the negative. And we see ratings as focusing on the negative.

If you don't have ratings, then why the 'recommended read'? Isn't that the same thing?

A BRR recommended read is for a special book. These books are truly exceptional reads that our reviewers can't stop gushing about. Reasons differ from reviewer to reviewer as to why a book deserves this nomination, but somewhere in the story the reader acknowledges this one is different and deserves to stand out from the crowd. It's a high honor and not grated loosely. And it's not the same thing as a rating. Its a special acknowledgement from a reviewer to an author.

I sent my book to you...when do I get my review?

While we try to review as many books as we can, we can not promise every book we receive will get a review. If you would like a short e-mail to be sent when a reviewer picks up your book, please tell us in the body of your e-mail. Otherwise, your book goes in queue with the rest.

What makes you different than the other (more popular) review sites?

Several things. We pride ourselves on being author-friendly. Authors, however, are the reason we review. We strive to bring readers the best books in romantic fiction available in electronic format. We only review romance, but all sub-genres welcome. We offer free promotional opportunities to authors, and have a large list of e-publishers available to aid readers in finding the books we read. And I'm available to answer questions anytime.

If anymore questions buzz around in your brain, send me an email. I've said many times before, and I'll say it again, I'm always happy to help.

Perfect Whore

BRR Recommended Read

Perfect Whore by Sahara Kelly

My name is Scarlet Angel and my choice of occupations may come as a surprise. It's one that pays extremely well and allows me to live in a style you'd probably enjoy. I go to interesting places, meet quite a few interesting people — I have more than I need and I appreciate all that I have. I also like having sex.

I'm at the very top of my profession. But my life is about to take one of those turns I cannot anticipate and two men will be waiting for me at the end of this new road. I'll be learning from them, odd things about myself I wasn't expecting. It's going to be interesting and more than a little unsettling, given what I do for a living. Of course there'll be sex involved. A lot of sex. It's inevitable when men cross my path.

Because I am Scarlet Angel.
And I am a whore.

Publisher: Ellora's Cave Publishing
ISBN:9781419911569
Genre: Contemporary Erotica
Length: Short novel/approx. 127 pages
Sensual Rating: 5 Flames

In PERFECT WHORE, Ms. Kelly delves into her character's world, showing the reader her heroine's life, both on a professional level as Scarlet Angel, a whore, and a personal level as simply Angel Jones. Scarlet Angel and Angel Jones are technically the same person, yet two very different people at the same. In the first half of the story, Scarlet interacts with her clients showing the reader her career and the men she caters to on a regular basis. She's a high-class prostitute, and enjoys doing her job--mainly because she's good at it. But Scarlet's seemingly perfect world shifts in the second half of the book when she receives word that a family member passes away.

Being Aunt Dodo's only living relative, she returns to the small town her aunt called home where she leaves behind the Scarlet Angel persona and allows herself to be Angel Jones. While visiting the small town, Angel is introduced to two very different men--Guy, a lawyer, who helps Angel with her aunt's will, and Ramsey, a cocky contractor determined to get his way. One man promises to be virtually the perfect mate, and the other promises nothing but sinful indulgences only a tempting bad-boy could offer.

I’ve read a few of Ms. Kelly’s titles and must say she never lets her readers down. I didn’t know what to expect with PERFECT WHORE, but found it to be a great story written by a master in the field of erotica. I enjoyed the entire storyline, but my favorite scenes come from Angel’s time spent with Ramsey. He's everything a girl wants and knows she shouldn't have. Each of Ms. Kelly's books is better than the last, and I can't wait to see what she has in store next. A definite must read for any fan of realistic characters, starring in a flaming-hot erotica novel. Go buy your copy today. You won't be disappointed!

Welcome to BRR

Bluegrass Romance Reviews is a new review site dedicated to promoting wonderful romantic fiction to readers who enjoy a great story. We are independent reviewers that post each one of our reviews on the Bluegrass Romance Reviews blog page. We read every genre, as long as some romantic elements are involved. As of right now, we only accept e-book format. (print ARCs welcome as long as they are electronic format) If you would like your book reviewed please send us an e-mail stating pertinent facts (title, author, blurb, publisher info, .pdf file, etc). While we can’t guarantee every book requested will get a review, we will do our best to accept as many books as we can, and review them within a reasonable time frame. We don’t have a rating system as far as how great the book is, but we do rate in terms of sexual explicitness.

1 flame, Sweet-- kissing is as far as this rating goes.

2 flames, Sensual-- touching, a little more explicit, and if any intercourse it’s done behind closed doors.

3 flames, Spicy-- there is intercourse, but it reflects on emotional aspects instead of blunt graphic terms. Often uses euphemisms. Most mainstream romance is rated this.

4 flames, Erotic-- Blunt terms for sex and graphic language.

5 flames, Not for the faint of heart—this involves everything a 4 rating plus use of such things as BDSM, toys, multiple partners, etc.
